One Summer was shot between April and October 1982 on location around Bala in North Wales; Liverpool; and in various locations around Leeds - within easy distance of Yorkshire Television studios.

The production was filmed entirely on location, with all the challenges of inclement weather, and overhead aircraft. Until recently the location of 'Kidder's House' was something of a holy grail to One Summer fans, but has recently been revealed by soundman Terry Meadowcroft!
